The GU12 En Fuego completed their 2009-2010 season on a high note with their making it all the way to the championship game in this years Legends Cup. Battling cold weather and wild windy conditions, the girls tied Beach Black 1-1, then won their games vs West Coast FC (2-1) and SCV Magic 2-0 to win their group. In the semi-finals, the En Fuego beat Crescenta Valley in penalty kicks and advanced on to the finals to play Beach Black.  The En Fuego were beat in the final but they finished strong and will look ahead to their fall season in a silver bracket in Coast Soccer League. Great job!

The Galaxy Alliance Girls under 13 Blackouts are impressing the Got Soccer rankings. In the latest polling, the team is ranked 58th in the nation and 12th here in the Cal South region. Congrats to all the Blackouts for their success to date and keep up the good play!

The weekend of March 13-14, 2010 found the GU13 Galaxy Blackouts continuing their strong 2009/2010 season performance by winning the California Spring Cup tournament.  The Blackouts did it in style without letting up a goal throughout the tournament. En route to the championship, the Galaxy Blackouts beat the 3rd and 6th ranked teams from Arizona and the 6th ranked team from Nevada. The Blackouts are coached by Lasan Darboe. Next up for the Blackouts is Santa Barbara.

The Galaxy Alliance GU13 Blackouts team will be opening up their team practices throughout February to interested players who wish to try out for the team.  Players need to have birthdates of August 1, 1996 or later to be eligible to play for the Blackouts. The Blackouts currently play in the GU13 age group and will be playing in a Silver bracket in the GU14 age group for the 2010 fall season.

Practices for the Blackouts are held Mondays and Wednesdays at the Rancho Park fields in Cheviot Hills. The Galaxy Alliance Soccer Club is intending to add a brand new Girls U13 team and a brand new Girls U12 team for the fall season. Tryouts for both of these new teams are to be held Sunday April 19 and Sunday April 26 from 3pm to 5pm at Rancho Park.  Players should try to be there by 3pm, but may come as late as 5pm. To be eligible for the GU13 team, girls must have birthdays August 1, 1996 or later.  To be eligible for the GU12 team, girls must have birthdays August 1, 1997 or later.  The Rancho Park fields are accessible off of Motor Avenue, just south of Pico Blvd and the Rancho Park golf courses.  If players want to attend, please have your parents contact Joe Russo at (310) 621-3710.
