Parking: We are allowed to use the parking lot off of Catalina if space permits.  The entrance is right at the intersection of 7th and Catalina. That lot holds about 30 cars.  If the school is using that parking lot for another event, we are out of luck. There is a covered parking lot, but it requires card key access.  Otherwise, parking should be available on Catalina, 7th Street, Wilshire and the streets surrounding the school.  Both teams will have to park in the same place, parking lot or street.

You enter the field from the main entrance on Catalina, where the above-referenced parking is located.  The field is located just north of the parking lot.

Field Lining & Flags: The field is artificial turf and is pre-lined. Turf-safe corner flags should be used.

Field Rules: RFK Community Schools is a Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) operated facility, and all LAUSD rules apply. For instance, no dogs are allowed in the field area. No food, gum or colored liquids except water are allowed on the field.

The school has vending machines nearby in the "quad" area.  The machines are available to us, but the food would need to be consumed in the area next to the field where there are lunch tables, benches and a pavilion.

We are allowed to bring pop-up shading tents, so long as they are removed when we leave.  Because the School is new all the trees are young and provide little relief from the sun. A small amount of shade is available in the morning from the buildings on the eastside of the field. But by noon the cover is gone and, of course, the turf field increases the temperature by about 10 degrees.

Restrooms: Restrooms are adjacent to the field on the south end. They will be opened by the on-site monitor.

Goals & Nets: The goals should already be set in place but if not they should be carried (they do not have wheels) by team parents and put in position.

Lights: The field currently is not lighted.

SeatingThe stands are on the eastside of the field and run along the entire touch line. The west side of the field has very little space (maybe 5 meters).  Some spectators might want to use the tables and covering located at the south end of the field.  One can watch the game from there, but the best viewing is from the stands. We should encourage our spectators and those of our opponents to use the stands.

Other considerations: Most of the west side sideline does not have a fence and there is a drop off to the next open area.  Balls that go out of bounds on that side might travel down a hill or steps, so we should warn the players, coaches and referees.  The situation will be assessed and if need be dealt with as soon as possible.

Finally, we need to leave the field in a timely fashion. This is not a place to picnic or loiter. After the game, please clean up and head home.
