Coach Lasan Darboe's Galaxy Fusion squad won the CSL/US Club Soccer California Cup 2008 for Girls under 17. In the semi-finals, the Fusion beat Blast SC White 3-0. In the finals, the Fusion beat MVSC Xtreme 2-1.

Congratulations to the Galaxy Fusion for all your hard work and job well done!

Three Other New GASC Girl Teams Added for 2008-2009 Season

The Galaxy Alliance Soccer Club has added three other new teams for the coming season. These teams are currently conducting tryouts. For more information, here is who to contact:

Tryouts for New GASC Girls U12 Team for 2008-2009 Season!

Tryouts for the new Galaxy Alliance Girls U12 Club team for the 2008/2009 season have been scheduled. In order to be eligible to play on this squad, players must have been born after August 1, 1996. Tryouts are at the Rancho Park fields which is off of Motor Avenue in Cheviot Hills, just South of Pico Blvd.

Tryout dates and times are listed below. You only need to attend one of the dates listed in order to tryout for the team.

  • Saturday, March 29th - 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 6th - 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 11th - 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 18th - 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Galaxy Fusion Open Tryouts

The Galaxy Fusion is having open tryouts for girls who want to play GU18 (hopefully gold, but depending on the bracketing by Coast Soccer League), this upcoming fall 2008 season. We practice from 5:30 to 7:30 on Monday's and Wednesday's at Rancho Park on the north side of the park near the golf course just off Motor.

2007 Coast Soccer League Action

Several teams from the Galaxy Alliance SC placed in the top four positions in their respective Coast Soccer League brackets for the 2007 fall season.

The BU11 Alliance finished their very first season of club soccer play with an impressive 9-4-1 record. This record gave the Alliance a third place finish in Bronze West. The Alliance are coached by Ze Luis Sobrinho.

The GU12 Devil-Cats, also playing in their first season of club soccer wound up with a strong 7-3-2 record in the Bronze North division for a third place finish. The Devil-Cats are coached by Christian Chambers.

The BU13 United made things happen this season and wound up in first place in Bronze West with a fabulous 9-2-3 record. This is the United’s second season in club soccer. This Galaxy Alliance squad is also coached by Ze Luis Sobrinho.

The BU13 Vapor finished their second season with a 7-6-1 record giving them sole possession of third place in their strong Silver West bracket. The Vapor’s coach is Christian Chambers.

The BU14 Banditz completed their second season in club soccer with a wild 11-0-3 record, winning their Silver Alpha bracket outright. The Banditz are coached by Roberto ("Beto") Dos Santos and Alex Gansa.

In BU16 action, the Pythons got past an early season injury bug, then finished very strong and posting a 6-5-3 record for the season. Their incredible play in the second half of the season gave the team a share of third place in the Silver West bracket. The Pythons are coached by Tim Pierce.

The Fusion again played great soccer all season. They earned a fourth place tie in the twelve-team GU17 Silver Elite North bracket with a marvelous 5-2-4 record. The Fusion are well coached by Lasan Darboe.

Beto dos Santos Skills Improvement Program

Galaxy Alliance Soccer ClubGalaxy Alliance will offer a skills improvement program coached by Beto dos Santos. These weekly training sessions at the VA practice fields are open to all Galaxy club members who wish to improve their individual skills outside of team practices. Below is a listing of dates, times and subject matter for the first four sessions. The cost per player is $10 per session, payable directly to Beto. If the response is favorable, Beto intends to continue this program during the High School season.

INDIVIDUAL SKILLS PROGRAM

  • 5:30PM ­ 7:00PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2007
    Subject: Finishing on goal.
    Shooting and heading techniques to create and score more goals
  • 5:30PM ­ 7:00PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2007
    Subject: Final passing techniques.
    Utilizing various surfaces of soccer boots to accurately pass and chip at speed.
  • 5:30PM ­ 7:00PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007
    Subject: Individual ball control.
    First touch, receiving, turning and holding techniques.
  • 5:30PM ­ 7:00PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007
    Subject: Individual moves to beat a player.
    Techniques for dribbling, moves, faking and turning. Includes one vs one attacking/defending and shielding.

NOTE TO ALL GASC TEAMS:

To determine whether your team has field set-up or field take-down responsibility for an upcoming home game, click on the Fields link above and then connect to the link for the Coast Soccer League Field Schedule for either Mark Twain, Paul Revere or the VA fields. The first team on the schedule for any day will be responsible for field set-up. The last team will be responsible for field take-down and the return of the goals and flags. Galaxy Revolution Resumes Training

The Galaxy Revolution U19 Gold Boys team resumes training Tuesday, July 17 at 7pm at our VA practice field under the supervision of award winning coach Beto dos Santos. Construction Now Underway at the VA

Construction is now going on at the VA until 2009. Bonsall Avenue will be necessary to take to get to MacArthur Field. This will effect driving in and out from San Vicente Avenue more than from Wilshire Blvd so please be aware of detours to the fileds.   • Boys teams in the U11 and U13 age groups
  • Girl team in the U12 age group

Galaxy Alliance Soccer Club2006 Coast Soccer League action

Several of our teams from the Galaxy Alliance SC placed in the top two postions of their brackets during 2006 Coast Soccer League play.

The BU12 Vapor finished their inaugural season of club soccer with a 9-2-1 record in the Bronze West bracket, only one point off the pace of the bracket champion. The Vapor are coached by Christian Chambers.

The BU13 Banditz completed their own first season in club soccer with an impressive 10-1-1 record, winning their Bronze West bracket outright. The Banditz are coached by Roberto ("Beto") Dos Santos and Alex Gansa.

In BU14 action, the Elite posted an impressive 10-2-2 record this past season giving this squad a share of the Silver Elite South title. The Elite are coached by Philip Berry and Mark Shanley.

Also in BU14, the Cobras finished their Coast Soccer League season with a 9-2-1 record in Bronze West play. This record gave the Cobras a share of the title for this bracket. The Cobras are coached by Dave Estes.

The Fusion played strong soccer all season and this earned them sole first place in the GU16 Silver West bracket with a 9-2-1 record. The Fusion are coached by Lasan Darboe.
