Tim Pierce
GALAXY ALLIANCE DIRECTOR OF COACHING
Nearing a decade as a coach with the Galaxy, Tim Pierce has seen the club grow from a loose confederation into a tightly knit and interconnected alliance of teams all striving for excellence in youth soccer. As the club’s Director of Coaching, Tim has had a huge hand in engineering that change.
A product of the OC, Tim played through the ranks of youth soccer, twice winning the Premier division and National Cup with the Pateadores club. Recruited by UCLA, he came into his own junior year and was voted 1st team All Pac-10 and 3rd team All Far West Region. He was also a two-time Pac-10 Player of the Week, the MVP of the USF Tournament and the Bruin’s Offensive MVP.
In his senior year, 2002, he played a crucial role in UCLA’s march to the NCAA National Championship. Tim was voted 1st team All-American, 1st team All Pac-10 and once again the team Offensive MVP.
After getting his degree in Sociology, Tim went off to play for the El Paso Patriots in the USL before returning to southern California to join the Galaxy Alliance as coach of the U17 Stars and the U13 Pythons. He has twice taken teams to U19 Gold and seen several of his players move on to collegiate D1 and D3 programs.
In addition to his Galaxy duties, Tim assistant coaches the Women’s team at Santa Monica College and has taken them to the Southern Regional playoffs in 2005 and 2006. Additionally he is the assistant coach of the Harvard-Westlake Varsity Girls program, which twice in the past three years has won the CIF-South Division 1 championship. Add in the 3 CIF championships he won assistant coaching his alma mater, Santa Margarita HS Varsity Boys, and his legacy of success is undeniable.
Tim currently coaches the B98 Black and B99 White teams.
